| There are 5 Books in the History of Sutton series (Produced by Sutton Feast Committee. As Time Goes By - A pictorial history of Sutton through the ages. Open All Hours - a history of the Shops and Businesses that have been in the village. Harold Painters Book written over 20 years ago about life in the village. Time Gentleman Please - A brief history of the Public Houses that used to be in the village. A Walk Down Memory Lane - List of events happening in the village that goes up to the present day. Books cost £2.50 each with postage in the UK at £1 and £2 for anywhere else in the World. All cheques to be drawn on a UK bank and paid in Sterling. Not long before the bunting goes up!
Preparations are well underway and the programme is close to being finalised. Some familiar events are back and lots of new ones too. Many thanks to all those involved in helping with this year’s Feast - volunteers, organisers, and businesses. This year’s programme comprises: Thurs 26th June Lace making, Cycle Treasure Hunt, Hereward Quilters. Fri 27th June Heartbeat Walk, Afternoon Games, Entertainment Quiz. Sat 28th June Dawn till Dinner, Duck Race, Race Night, Ely Consort Concert, Medieval Banquet. Sun 29th June Fun Run, Feast Beast, Teddy Bears’ Picnic, Open Gardens. Mon 30th June Needlework Group, Pond Dipping, Indoor Games, Carpet Bowls, Simply Delicious. Tues 1st July Outdoor Bowls, Carpet Bowls, Pub Games, Indian Feast. Weds 2nd July Indian Feast, Outdoor Bowls, Bell Ringing. Thurs 3rd July Lace Maker’s Group, Photographic Exhibition, General Quiz, Beer Festival with Folk Music. Fri 4th July Heartbeat walk, Afternoon Games, SAD Show, Wine Tasting, Beer Festival with Jazz Music. Sat 5th July Fire Station Open Day & Car Boot Sale, Tithe Sale & Cafe, Foss School Fete, SAD Shows, Beer Festival with Rock Music. Sun 6th July Six- a -Side Cricket, Last Night Of The Proms, Feast Bingo. Feast programmes giving full details of all events will be delivered to all houses in the village in mid – June. Party In the Park should be back this year. We’re currently awaiting the licence from East Cambs. DC. All being well it will take place on Sun 30th August 4-9pm.
