Sutton In The Isle
(Village of the Year 2002)

1st Sutton (Cambridgeshire) Scout Group

We have a thriving Scouting movement in Sutton with some 60 boys and girls from Mepal, Sutton and Witcham meeting at our Scout Headquarters at Sutton Gault on a Wednesday evening. Meeting times are as follows:-

Beavers (for ages 6 to 8) meet at 4.00pm till 5.00pm
Cubs (for ages 8 to 10 1/2) meet at 5.15 till 6.45pm
Scouts (for ages 10 1/2 to 14) meet at 7.00pm till 8.30pm

Boys & girls are welcome at all levels and will enjoy a wide ranging programme of activities, allowing great fun to be had by all, whilst promoting the values of discipline & respect. Activities include camping, sleepovers, kayaking (for scouts), and activity weekends organised by Ely District from time to time, to name but a few of the experiences the young people enjoy.

We have embarked on an ambitious project to raise £150,000 for a replacement Scout building and are always seeking help from parents and friends of the Group either for donations (which can be Gift Aided) or help with fund raising. In addition, the Group has party tents which are available to hire and we can consider providing catering facilities from time to time as well.
